African Encounter is a small, specialist travel agency passionate about Africa and dedicated to making your safari to Africa an experience of a lifetime.

Although now living overseas we are African born and raised, have travelled extensively throughout both east and southern Africa and have been planning and outfitting safaris since 1994.

We proudly boast extensive experience in both ground operations and itinerary planning. Over many years we have developed a network of safari operators and groundhandlers that allow us the confidence to recommend their services to you without hesitation.

We are not affiliated or allied to any group of lodges or camps and are not influenced or controlled in our selections of accommodation options in any way.

Further, we strongly believe that African Encounter distinguishes itself by the quality and professionalism of our service. We share a common passion for Africa, which motivates us to want to share our unique experiences with you.

We are not a 'volume' agency and are only able to service a modest amount of business each year - our guarantee that you will come to trust and rely on our years of experience and expertise as we work with you to plan that special trip to Africa.

Our PHOTO SAFARI portfolio has grown out of a desire to offer a limited selection of photography specific safaris that focus on some of the very best wildlife areas, both in east and southern Africa and more importantly, those things that make the difference to a keen photographer.
